Roundtable
8:
World
Council of Former Foreign Ministers
|
Introduction
(in
french)
The
central objective of this Roundtable is to assess
how the concept of security, traditionally shaped
by conflict between states, must be expanded and
redefined to address the new generation of threats
in the form of hunger, disease, crime, repression
and environmental degradation. This Roundtable
will address the role of ethical norms in the
challenge of redefining conventional concepts
of security, and the implications for reforming
international peace and security institutions.
